Description
Our native species of hazel,
Corylus avellana grows to be a large shrub or small, multi-stemmed tree and in early spring is festooned with long, yellow catkins followed later in the year by hazelnuts. Excellent for creating a habitat for wildlife and a useful screening tree, this can also be planted as part of a hedge or windbreak.
