Available late Summer/ Autumn 2012 - A beautiful South American, semi-evergreen large shrub, Embothrium coccineum var lanceolata has fantastic flame orange-red flowers in early summer. It has a reasonably slender, upright habit and for many years this would be considered a species only suitable for warm, west coast gardens.
Recent climate changes have enabled many gardeners to grow this beautiful plant in cooler inland gardens although Embothrium still requires shelter from cold winter winds.
Embothrium coccineum is a superb addition to most gardens or a woodland areas and a good companion plant for Rhododendrons and Azaleas as they enjoy the same soil conditions. Best for experienced gardeners.
Supplied Size: 3L containers (young plants)
Please be aware that as this is a fickle and sometimes difficult plant, our guarantee for this particular shrub is only valid for two weeks after delivery, rather than the usual year.
