A lovely new cultivar, Crinodendron hookerianum 'Ada Hoffman' is similar to the more familiar Crinodendron hookerianum, except that it has masses of delicate, pale pink (rather than red) flowers in early summer. A superb flowering shrub for a warm garden border!

Supplied Size: 3L containers (25 - 40 cm tall)

• Position: Partial shade.
• Soil: Well drained, acid soil.
• Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Crinodendron hookerianum 'Ada Hoffman' requires shelter from cold winter winds.
• Flowering Period: May - June.
• Flower Colour: Pale pink
• Rate of Growth: Moderate.
• Habit: Crinodendron hookerianum 'Ada Hoffman' grows to be a medium sized or eventually large, branching shrub.
  • Height: 3+ m (10+ ft).
  • Spread: 3 m (10 ft).

• Notes: After a particularly cold, frosty spell in winter, the leaves of Crinodendron hookerianum 'Ada Hoffman' may bruise a little and turn bronze/purple in colour. It generally recovers well and new leaves will emerge in the following year.
