Description
Eye-catching species of Birch with brown peeling bark which can be found growing in the wild in the woods and forests of Northern North America up to Greenland. Betula papyrifera 'Vancouver' has lush green leaves which turn a lovely deep golden-yellow in a good crisp autumn and can stay on the tree for a long time in the absence of strong winds or storms. The bark, once established is a handsome dark, nearly chocolate brown and peels in thin strips to reveal a lighter coloured bark underneath.
