SOLD OUT: Available winter 2012
A very rare and handsome birch tree introduced from the Caucasus mountains in 1897, Betula medwedewii 'Gold Bark' has deeply veined dark green leaves which turn bright yellow in autumn before falling. In spring curious, upright catkins appear on the branches.
The bark turns attractive shades of bronze, gold and brown as it matures. A small tree with a reasonably compact and bushy habit which makes Betula medwedewii 'Gold Bark' ideal for gardens or areas with limited space.
Supplied Size: 1.5L containers (small, young plants only)
The Betula medwedewii 'Gold Bark' in our woodland gardens (taken in late October 2010).
