Description
Native to Eastern North America and known for its fantastic autumn colour, Acer saccharum is unusual in the United Kingdom and commonly called the 'Sugar Maple'. The sap contains a large proportion of sugar and is one of the major sources of maple syrup.
The leaves are bright green in spring / summer, turning delightful shades of orange-gold, scarlet and crimson in a good crisp autumn before falling. Acer saccharum is a sensational garden or street tree for autumn colour!
