A handsome form of Norway spruce, if left untrained, Picea abies 'Inversa' will reach a height of no more than 75 - 100 cm tall, but will develop a large spread and droop gracefully over garden features or rockeries. When the main leader is trained up a support or large bamboo cane, it grows to be an exquisite, weeping small tree, with the branches hanging downwards and clinging tightly to the main stem.
Picea abies 'Inversa' is particularly striking when trained over an arch as in the lovely alpine garden at Champex in Switzerland where it has been used to create a living 'moongate'.
Supplied Size: 10L container (freshly potted at 40 - 60) cm tall
