Description

A beautiful, woody climbing plant, Schizophragma hydrangeoides has ornamental white flower bracts and inhabits damp woods and thickets in mountains all over Japan.

A self-supporting climber, similar in some respects to the more common Hydrangea anomola subsp petiolaris (climbing hydrangea), but with 15 - 25 cm wide cymes (clusters) of ivory-white flowers with conspicuous heart-shaped, cream coloured bracts.

Schizophragma hydrangeoides is an unusual and spectacular climber for many shady situations, including growing up trees and walls facing north or east.

Supplied Size: 3L containers (40 - 60 cm tall)
