Description

An attractive flowering climber, native to hedges and thickets of southern Europe and very occasionally found growing in the wild in the United Kingdom. Clematis flammula has clusters of small, white, sweetly scented flowers, throughout late summer and followed by graceful, silky seed heads in the autumn.

A strong growing climber ideal for growing through old, gnarled trees or clothing a wall and can also be grown as a scrambling and unusual ground cover plant!

Supplied Size: 2L deep containers (40 - 60 cm tall)

• Position: Full sun or partial shade.
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Hardy.
• Flowering Period: July - October
• Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
• Habit: Medium sized climbing plant which requires support as it will not self-cling.
  • Height: 6 m (20 ft)
  • Spread: 4 m (13 ft)

• Pruning: To renovate Clematis flammula, cut it back to just above ground level (15 - 20 cm) in early spring before it starts to grow.
